Safa Masjid

Safa Masjid
The Safa Masjid (mosque) is one of the most popular mosques in Goa. It is located in Ponda district of Goa and was built in 1560 by Adilshah of Bijapur. All Muslims gather in this mosque during the festivals of Id-ul-Zuha and Id-ul-Fitr. The mosque has a beautifully constructed tank like pond adjacent to it. The pond used to be surrounded by a beautiful garden which was destroyed by the Portuguese during their invasion.
